Homeopathy and Bach Flower Remedies

Developed by Samuel Hahnemann in the late 1700's, homeopathy saved countless individuals from harsh treatments such as bloodletting, purging, blistering, and the use of sulfur and mercury.

Dr. Hahnemann believed that by inducing the symptoms of a disease through the use of drugs, the body's vital force would be empowered to neutralize and expel the original disease.
Both Bach Flowers and Homeopathy seek to eradicate disease at the root source, and both recognize that each person has an energy called a vital force, or a self-healing response. When this energy is disrupted or imbalanced health problems develop.
Homeopathic treatment involves stimulating the body's physical defense mechanisms to prevent or treat illness by giving very small doses of substances that produce the same or similar symptoms of illness in healthy people if they were given larger doses. Thus homeopathy works on a physical level, while Bach Flowers work to rebalance energies on an emotional level, which removes stress and allows physical healing to take place as well.

In addition to treating a specific symptom, both treatments are based on a total picture of an individual and his or her symptoms. Practitioners evaluate a person's physical symptoms, plus his or her emotions, mental states, lifestyle, nutrition, etc. Thus each treatment is individualized for the patient.

Homeopathic treatments should be kept out of the reach of children and women who are pregnant or nursing a baby should first consult with their physicians and use the therapies with care.

In all practicality, Homeopathy is similar to the practice of immunization to prevent disease - except that it is used to cure disease.
